Ward Administrator-cum-Member of Public Security and Counter-Terrorism Team Shot Dead in Attack, School Building Blown Up by So-Called PDF Terrorist Group in Palaw Township of Tanintharyi Region

   Terrorist groups are conducting various acts of terrorism to disrupt the stability, peace and administrative mechanisms of the State. Furthermore, they are abducting and killing civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians, as well as detonating explosives and destroying government buildings, schools and public properties.

  Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 23 October 2025 at 10:20 AM, U Soe Wai (54 years old), a ward administrator-cum-member of the Public Security and Counter-Terrorism Team, a resident of No. 4 Ward in Palaw Township of Tanintharyi Region was shot dead by so-called PDF terrorists. In the incident, the victim was travelling on his motorcycle from a check point at the town’s entrance and exit to his office. When he reached the front of No. 8 Basic Education Primary School, a so-called PDF terrorist group opened fire on him using small arms. As a result, U Soe Wai died on the spot. Additionally, the terrorists detonated an explosive device at a one-story reinforced concrete school building within the school compound, causing severe damage to the building, which was estimated at a value of 60,000,000 MMK, it is reported.

   It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
