Two Innocent Civilians Killed in Remote Mine and Gunfire Attack, Vehicle Burned Down by So-Called PDF Terrorist Group in Thayet Township of Magway Region

     In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 6 November 2025 at 6:30 AM, U Khin Maung Myint (58 years old), a resident of Shwe Bon Thar Ward in Thayet Township of Magway Region and U Kyaw Lwin (45 years old), a resident of Hlaing Township of Yangon Region, were travelling by car from the ward to Yangon City along the Thayet-Kamma road. when the vehicle reached near Par Pwut Village, a so-called PDF terrorist group detonated a remote mine and opened fire on the vehicle. As a result, both men died on the spot. Additionally, the terrorists set the vehicle on fire, it is reported.

     Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
