Nine Female Teachers and One Man Abducted with Vehicle, Threatened and Later Released by So-Called PDF Terrorist Group in Kyaikto Township of Mon State

     Terrorist groups have been engaging in battles, carrying out attacks using heavy weapons, drones to drop bombs and improvised explosive devices across towns and villages in various states and regions. Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities including abducting and extorting money from local civilians, as well as killings.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 16 November 2025 at 8:15 AM, Daw Yi Yi Win (53 years old), a senior assistant teacher from the Basic Education High School in Thein Za Yat Town in Kyaikto Township of Mon State, along with eight other female teachers from other schools in the town, departed from Thein Za Yat Town to Kyaikto Town in a vehicle driven by U Lin Min Tun (35 years old), a resident of No.2 Ward in Thein Za Yat Town. They were travelling to attend a subject-specific refresher course at the No.1 Basic Education High School in Kyaikto Town. When the vehicle reached an area near Kan Ni Village in Kyaikto Township, 20 so-called PDF terrorists forced the vehicle to stop and abducted them. Later, the terrorists releasing them after threatening not to attend the “Electoral Training”, it is reported. 

     Regarding the above incident, security personnel are continuing necessary operations in accordance with standard procedures to identify, apprehend and take action against the terrorists involved, it is reported.
