Administrative Official Killed and Woman Injured in Attacks by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Mahlaing and Thayetchaung Townships

     The terrorists, the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the National Unity Government (NUG), with the aim of nationwide destruction, have formed the terrorists known as the so-called PDF. Under various pretexts, in some regions, they have been arresting, torturing and killing government servants, monks and innocent local residents, as well as engaging in armed clashes and carrying out attacks in wards and villages.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 22 February 2026 at 10:15 AM, while U Than Hlaing (63 years old), the village administrator and a resident of Kone Tal (South) Village in Mahlaing Township of Mandalay Region, was at his house, four so-called PDF terrorists, arriving by two motorcycles, opened fire and stabbed him to death. As a result, U Than Hlaing died on the spot, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 5:00 PM, on the same day, while Daw Khin Htay Maw (54 years old), a resident of Tha Yet Na Khwa Village in Thayetchaung Township of Tanintharyi Region, was at her house, she sustained gunshot wounds due to reckless firing by so-called PDF terrorists. She was transported to Dawei Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned cases, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate shootings and killings of administrative officials and innocent civilians by armed terrorists, who intended to spread fear among the public. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incidents, it is reported.
