Civil Servants, Administrative Officials and Innocent Civilians Recklessly Assassinated by So-called PDF Terrorists

     In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 5 August, 2024 at 10:25 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead between Bwut Sein Bu Village and Pat Tan Gyi Village in Minhla Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Village Administrator  U Nyunt Myaing (64 years old)  a resident of Bwut Sein Bu Village in Minhla Township. While he was on his way on his motorcycle from Pat Tan Gyi Village to Bwut Sein Bu Village, While travelling between the two villages, four so-called PDF terrorists, following him on two motorcycles, opened fire. As a result, U Nyunt Myaing died on the spot. Additionally, the terrorists took U Nyunt Myaing’s motorcycle before fleeing, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 11:00 AM, a report stated that a woman was shot dead in Aye Mya Wadi Ward, Sagaing Township of Sagaing Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Daw Ni Ni Myint (44 years old) a resident of the ward. While she was at her house, six so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on her. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 10:30 PM, a report stated that a woman was shot dead in Ye Paw Kyun ka Lay Village, Salin Township of Magway Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Daw Phyu Phyu Thin (48 years old) a senior assistant teacher at the Basic Education High School in Ta Nyaung Village and a resident of the village. While she was at her house, six so-called PDF terrorists arrived by three motorcycles, opened fire on her. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.

     Similarly, on 6 August  at 7:35 AM, a report stated that a woman was killed and another was injured by gunfire in May Da Gi Yi Ward, Aungmyaetharzan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were Ward Administrator Daw Phyo Thandar Aung (39 years old)  and 100-household elder Daw Khin Phone Su (37 years old) both residents of the village. While the victims were purchasing mutton at a mutton shop in the ward, two so-called PDF terrorists arrived by a motorcycle, opened fire on them and then fled. As a result, Daw Phyo Thandar Aung died on the spot, while Daw Khin Phone Su sustained gunshot injuries. She was transported to a local military hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.

     Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of a civil servant, administrative officials, and innocent civilian in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
