Innocent Civilians Killed and Injured, Two Truck Burned Down in Small Arms Attack by KIA Insurgents and So-Called PDF Terrorists in Htigyaing Township of Sagaing Region

     Terrorists groups are carrying out attacks by firing heavy and small weapons into towns and villages where innocent civilians, who are not military targets, reside, with the aim of destabilizing the country and disrupting its peace and stability. Additionally, they are attacking vehicles travelling on roads by using explosive devices, firing heavy and small arms at them and planting landmines to destroy roads and bridges.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 6 June 2026 at 4:15 PM, a report stated that a combined group of KIA insurgents and so-called PDF terrorists attacked and torched two vehicles on the Kathar-Htigyaing Road near Nat Inn Village in Htigyaing Township of Sagaing Region. When security personnel arrived at the scene to conduct further investigation, they found that U Wai Phyo Oo, a driver, was dead with gunshot wounds and Ko Aung San Phyo (24 years old), a vehicle conductor and resident of Pyigyitagon Township, also sustained gunshot wounds. Both were on a six-wheeler truck bearing license plate No. 4B/XXXX. In another incident, U Yin Maung, a driver, was found dead with gunshot wounds and U Bal Kyaw, a vehicle conductor, was also found dead with gunshot wounds. Both were on another six-wheeler truck bearing license plate No. 2B/XXXX. Additionally, two six-wheeler trucks bearing license plate No. 3C/XXXX and 8J/XXXX, were destroyed by fire. A six-wheeler truck bearing license plate No. 1B/XXXX was also found parked at the scene. Security personnel transported an injured individual to Mandalay Public Hospital for medical treatment. Security personnel are continuing area clearance operations, it is reported.

     It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
