Two Government Employees Injured in Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Nyaung-U Township of Mandalay Region

   The terrorist groups, the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the National Unity Government (NUG), with the aim of nationwide destruction, have formed the terrorist group known as the so-called PDF. Under various pretexts, in some regions, they have been arresting, torturing, and killing loyal government employees who are dutifully performing their duties, monks, and innocent local residents.

   Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 15 January 2026, eight employees of the Nyaung-U District Electric Office, including U Kyaw Myo Aung(55 years old), the Electrical Manager of the office and a resident of No. 6 Ward in Nyaung-U Township, and U Aung Kyaw Myint(44 years old), an electrical engineer of the office, were travelling in an office-owned vehicle driven by U Chan Thar(33 years old), a Storekeeper Grade (4). The vehicle was travelling from Mandalay City to Nyaung-U Town. Around 10:00 AM on the same day, the vehicle reached the vicinity of Dan Kyin Village, so-called PDF terrorists opened fire on the vehicle using small arms. As a result of the attack, U Kyaw Myo Aung and U Aung Kyaw Myint sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to Nyaung-U District Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.

   According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate shootings and killings of innocent civilians by armed terrorists, who intended to spread fear among the public. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
