Innocent Civilian Injured in Attack by Pro-Terrorism KNU Members and So-Called PDF Terrorists in Kawkareik Township of Kayin State

     In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 25 July 2025 at 10:50 AM, a report stated that a man with gunshot wounds was admitted to Hpa-an District Public Hospital in Hpa-an Township of Kayin State. When security personnel arrived at the Hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Tin Tin (71 years old), a resident of Ngar Taing Village in Kawkareik Township. The incident occurred on 24 July 2025, around 12:00 pm, when the victim was in front of his house, a combined group of pro-terrorism KNU members, along with so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on him, resulting in his injuries, it is reported.

     Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
