Security Personnel Rescue Abducted Innocent Civilian by So-Called PDF Terrorists and Seized Vehicle, Arms and Ammunition in Monywa Township of Sagaing Region

     Terrorist groups have been engaging in battles, carrying out attacks using heavy weapons, drones to drop bombs and improvised explosive devices across towns and villages in various states and regions. Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities-including abducting and extorting money from local civilians and also election commission members, as well as killings.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 22 December 2025 at 4:00 PM, a report stated that U Chit Ko Ko (57 years old), a resident of Kan Thar Oo Ward in Monywa Township of Sagaing Region, was at his house when four so-called PDF terrorists, armed with small arms and arriving by a white Toyota MARK II vehicle and abducted him. Security personnel immediately conducted blockades and searches in an effort to rescue the abducted man. During this operation, on the same day at 4:05 PM, the terrorists' vehicle was spotted driving along Waizanyatar Road, east of Kan Thar Yar Market in Leti Ward. When the vehicle was blocked and intercepted, the four terrorists fled on foot, and U Chit Ko Ko was successfully rescued. Furthermore, the following items were seized from the vehicle: one AK-47 magazine, two MA-3 magazines, 25 rounds of 7.62 x 39 mm ammunition, 31 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, and one mobile phone. Following this, operations continued in the area to apprehend the fleeing terrorists. During the continuation of these operations, at 4:20 PM, the following items were additionally seized from within the compound of the San Mya Yaung Chi Monastery in the ward: one AK-47 rifle with two magazines, one MA-3 rifle with one magazine, 28 rounds of 7.62 x 39 mm ammunition, and 24 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, it is reported. 

     Regarding the above incident, security personnels are continuing necessary operations in accordance with standard procedures to identify, apprehend and take action against the terrorists involved, it is reported.
