One People’s Militia Unit Member Killed in Drone Attack by KNU and So-Called PDF Terrorists in Kyauktaga Township of Bago Region

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and spread fear.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 12 January 2026 at 12:00 PM, a combined group of KNU and so-called PDF terrorists conducted a drone attack by dropping a bomb on a security outpost near the Kyun Kone Taw Ya Monastery in Sar Tike Ward, Kyauktaga Township of Bago Region. As a result of the blast, U Aung Soe Moe (44 years old), a member of the People’s Militia Unit and a resident of Kwin Naught Ward in Kyauktaga Township, was killed on the spot, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
