Innocent Civilian Injured in Reckless Gunfire from KNU and So-Called PDF Terrorists in Thaton Township of Mon State

     The terrorists, the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the National Unity Government (NUG), with the aim of nationwide destruction, have formed the terrorists known as the so-called PDF. Under various pretexts, in some regions, they have been arresting, torturing and killing government servants, monks and innocent local residents, as well as engaging in armed clashes and carrying out attacks in wards and villages.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 21 January 2026 at 9:10 AM, a report stated that a man with gunshot wounds was admitted to Thaton District Public Hospital in Mon State. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Zaw Naing Oo (56 years old), a resident of Ka Mar Sai Village in Thaton Township. According to the investigation at 7:00 AM, on the same day, while the victim was at the house of his friend, U Kyaw Myint, in Daung Village, he sustained gunshot wounds due to reckless gunfire by a combined group of KNU and so-called PDF terrorists, resulting in his injuries, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate shootings and killings of innocent civilian by armed terrorists, who intended to spread fear among the public. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
