Five Children Injured in Unexploded Hand Grenade Blast in Pinlaung Township of Shan State

     On 17 October 2025 at 8:05 PM, a report stated that five children with shrapnel injuries were admitted to Saung Pyaung Station Hospital in Pinlaung Township of Shan State. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victims were identified as Mg Zwal Htet Aung (nine years old), Mg Kaung Myat Aung (seven years old), Mg Haung Yat (aka) Chit Ko Ko (seven years old), Mg Htet Naing (10 years old) and Mg Moe Min Khant (nine years old), all residents of Lwal Hpee Village in Pinlaung Township. At 5:00 PM on the same day, the five children were playing with an unexploded hand grenade at a public rest house near a pagoda on their way back from the Basic Education Primary School in Lwal Hpee Village. The grenade exploded, causing their injuries, it is reported.

     It has been reported that the security personnel are providing necessary assistance to the injured children for their medical treatment.
