Innocent Civilian Killed, Another Injured in Heavy Weapon Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorist Faction in Thandaunggyi Township, Kayin State

     Terrorists committing inhumane acts have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the residential areas, including towns, wards and villages.
     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 16 May 2025 at 12:00 PM, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Taungoo District Public Hospital in Taungoo Township, Bago Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, they identified the victim as U Saw Ni Thaw (53 years old) a resident of Thit Khaung Village in Thandaunggyi Township, Kayin State. The incident occurred when a so-called PDF terrorist faction fired heavy weapons into the victim’s village, causing his injuries. Additionally, U El Hmu Thaw (aka) Khwar Lay died on the spot from the blasts, it is reported.
    Due to the heinous acts of armed terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards, and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, many innocent people, including monks and children, have been injured and killed. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
