Two Innocent Civilians Injured Mortar Attack by Armed Terrorists in Yebyu Township of Tanintharyi Region

     Terrorists committing terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards, and villages.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 18 March 2025 at 1:10 PM, a report stated that two men with shrapnel injuries were admitted to the Dawei Township Public Hospital of Tanintharyi Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were U Thein Zaw (44 years old) and Ko Thet Tin Oo (22 years old), both residents of Zee Kya Village in Yebyu Township. The incident occurred when a so-called PDF terrorist faction fired motars into the victims’ village. One of the mortar shells exploded within a rubber plantation yard in the village, resulting in their injuries, it is reported.

     Due to the heinous acts of armed terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians are injured or killed. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
