Village Tract Administrator and Innocent Civilian Shot Dead by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Kawthoung Township of Tanintharyi Region

    In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
    Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 2 July 2025 at 11:20 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Aye Chan Thar Village, Kawthoung Township of Tanintharyi Region. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered the victim was identified as U Myint Shein (aka) Chocolate (35 years old), a resident of the village. The incident occurred when the victim was at his house, four so-called PDF terrorists arriving by two motorcycles and opened fire on him. As a result, he died on the spot, it is reported.
    Similarly, at 12:30 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Seik Phu Village, Kawthoung Township. During further investigation, security personnel identified the victim as U Hla Naing (59 years old), the Village Tract Administrator and a resident of the village. The incident occurred near the Basic Education Post Primary School, approximately 50 yards east of his house, four so-called PDF terrorists arriving by two motorcycles and opened fire on him. As a result, he died on the spot, it is reported.
    Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
