Village Administrator Killed by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Kyunsu Township of Tanintharyi Region

    In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
    Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 6 July 2025 at 6:00 AM, while Village Administrator U Aung Myint (60 years old), his wife, Daw Khin Mu (59 years old) and their children, Ko Kyaw Kyaw Ye Yint (28 years old), Ko Thant Zin Ye Yint (27 years old) and Ma Honey Soe (23 years old), were at their house, approximately 40 so-called PDF terrorists arrived and abducted them. The terrorists then took them by motor boat to Chaung Kyi Wa Village. Upon arrival at the village cemetery, they shot and killed U Aung Myint but released remaining family members, it is reported.
    Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
