Two Innocent Civilians and a Child Killed, 25 Others Injured in Attack by KNLA Group and So-Called PDF Terrorists in Phyu Township of Bago Region

     Terrorists committing inhumane acts have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the residential areas, including towns, wards and villages.
     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 29 June 2025 at 5:20 AM, a combined group of KNLA members and so-called PDF terrorists conducted an attack on Wal Gyi (South) Village, located in Phyu Township of Bago Region. The terrorists used 40 mm grenade launchers and small firearms in the attack. Following the attack, at 8:40 AM, the group retreated toward Thaung Pu Village. Tragically, three residents: Mg Zwal Pyae (seven years old), Daw Khin Aye Su (56 years old) and Daw Thida Oo (35 years old), all residents of the village, were killed on the spot. Additionally, the following individuals sustained shrapnel and gunshot injuries: residents of Wal Gyi (South) Village; Ma Su Myat Mon (10 years old), Daw Cho (60 years old), Daw Su Nway Zin (38 years old), Mg Bone Khant Thaw (senve months old), Daw Zar (34 years old), Mg Kaung Khant Thaw (eight years old), Mg Khant (aka) Khant Nyar (17 years old), Mg Kan Htoo Wai (eight months old), Daw Khin Shwe (70 years old), Daw Shwe Zin Oo (26 years old), Daw Sapal (43 years old), Ko Nyan Lin Htet (22 years old), U Myo Min Tun (37 years old), Ma Thwal Thwal Soe (eight years old), Ma Twal Tar Oo (20 years old), Mg Su Myat Thu (12 years old), U Tin Win Tun (44 years old), U San Win (56 years old), Ko Myo Min Set (24 years old), Daw Wah Wah Myint (49 years old), Mg Pyae Sone (18 years old), Ko Thaw Tar Oo (22 years old), residents of neighboring villagers: U Win Nyunt (56 years old), Daw Khin Htay (73 years old), from Wal Gyi (North) Village and U Naing Tun (46 years old), from Wal Dauk Village. All deceased and injured individuals were transported to Phyu Township Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment.
    Regarding the above incident, security personnel are continuing necessary operations in accordance with standard procedures to identify, apprehend and take action against the terrorists involved, it is reported.
