Ward Administrator Shot Dead by So-Called PDF terrorist Group in Daik-U Township of Bago Region

   In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

    Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 2 September 2025 at 7:15 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Pha Aung Wal Ward in Daik-U Township of Bago Region. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Khin Win (68 years old), the Administrator of Pha Aung Wal Ward, and a resident of the ward. The incident occurred while the victim was returning home on his motorcycle from the “Sone Nay Kya” restaurant in the ward. When he reached the Daik-U–Hnin Wi road, a group of so-called PDF terrorist opened fire on him. As a result, U Khin Win died on the spot, it is reported.

   Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
