Civil Servant and Innocent Civilian Abducted by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Gangaw Township, Magway Region

     Terrorist groups have been engaging in battles, carrying out attacks using heavy weapons, drones to drop bombs, and improvised explosive devices across towns and villages in various states and regions. Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities including abducting and extorting money from local civilians and also election commission members, as well as killings.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 4 May 2026, Daw Cho Cho Aye (49 years old) a second primary teacher from the Basic Education Secondary School in Gangaw Town, a resident of Mauk Lin Village in Magway Region and her father, U Ba Cho (76 years old) a resident of Kyaw Tike Ward in Gangaw Township, were traveling by passenger vehicle from Gangaw Town to Mandalay City for a medical check-up for U Ba Cho. At 1:00 PM, when the vehicle reached a fork in the road near Ta Zan Village so-called PDF terrorists forced the vehicle to stop and abducted them, it is reported.

     Regarding the above incident, security personnel are continuing necessary operations in accordance with standard procedures to identify, apprehend, and take action against the terrorists involved, it is reported.
