Innocent Civilian Shot Dead by So-Called PDF Terrorist Group in Gyobingauk Township of Bago Region

     In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 28 August 2025 at 12:20 PM, while U Bo Gyi (51 years old), a resident of Kyi Su Village in Gyobingauk Township of Bago Region, was at his house, two so-called PDF terrorists arriving by motorcycle, opened fire on him, and then fled. As a result, U Bo Gyi sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to Gyobingauk Township Public Hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, U Bo Gyi succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital, it is reported.

     Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
