Innocent Civilians Killed and Injured in Improvised Explosive Device Explosions Planted by Terrorists in Madaya, Nyaung-U, Phyu and Naungcho Townships

     In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 13 March 2026 at 7:20 AM, a report stated that a woman with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Madaya Township Public Hospital in Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as Daw Nyunt Tin (62 years old), a resident of Lat Kaung Gyi Village in Madaya Township. According to the investigation, at 6:45 AM, on the same day, while the victim was picking water spinach near a lake northeast of the village, she stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by so-called PDF terrorists, resulting in her injuries, it is reported.

     Similarly, on 13 March 2026 at 1:15 PM, a report stated that the deceased and injured individuals with shrapnel injuries were admitted to Nyaung-U District Public Hospital in Nyaung-U Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was found that at 9:40 AM, on the same day, a vehicle driven by U Tun Lwin (63 years old), a resident of San Daw Ward in Pyay Township of Bago Region, accompanied by 11 individuals, including U Ye Zaw (35 years old), Daw Theint Theint Thu (32 years old) and Ma Han Su Su San (25 years old), all residents of Pyay Town, was travelling from Pyay Town to Lat Wal Village in Nyaung-U Township. When the vehicle reached an area near the village, an improvised explosive device planted by so-called PDF terrorists exploded on the roadside. As a result, Daw Theint Theint Thu and Ma Han Su Su San died on the spot, while U Tun Lwin sustained shrapnel injuries, it is reported.

     Similarly, on 13 March 2026 at 12:30 PM, a report stated that two women with shrapnel injuries were admitted to Zaya Wadi Station Hospital in Phyu Township of Bago Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victims were identified as Daw Kamar Lote Thee (40 years old) and Daw Kyan Dayar Wa Thee (35 years old), both residents of Ga Ram Ma Thee Village in Phyu Township. According to the investigation, at 12:00 PM, on the same day, while the victims were walking to Hlay Swal Myaung Village, they stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by a combined group of KNU and so-called PDF terrorists near an area about two and a half miles east of Hlay Swal Myaung Village, resulting in their injuries, it is reported.

     Similarly, on 13 March 2026 at 5:45 PM, a report stated that a woman with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Pyin Oo Lwin Township Public Hospital in Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as Daw Nyein Swe (58 years old), a resident of Taung Kham Village in Naungcho Township of Shan State. According to the investigation, at 3:00 PM, on the same day, while the victim was working in her yard, she stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by a combined group of TNLA and so-called PDF terrorists, resulting in her injuries, it is reported.

     It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents to take effective action in accordance with the law.
