Village Tract Administrator Abducted and Killed by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Sidoktaya Township of Magway Region

     Terrorists have been engaging in battles, carrying out attacks using heavy weapons, drones to drop bombs and improvised explosive devices across towns and villages in various states and regions. Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities-including abducting and extorting money from administrative officials as well as killings.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 20 February 2026, at 5:50 PM, while U Than Tun Aung (47 years old), the village tract administrator and a resident of Khway Ma Laung Village in Sidoktaya Township of Magway Region, was at his house, a group of approximately 10 so-called PDF terrorists arrived and abducted him. On 21 February 2026, at 11:20 PM, the terrorists then took him on the Khway Ma Laung Village to Nga Lal Village dirt road located about one mile south of Khway Ma Laung Village, where they opened fire on him. As a result, U Than Tun Aung died on the spot, it is reported.

     Regarding the above incident, security personnel are continuing necessary operations in accordance with standard procedures to identify, apprehend and take action against the terrorists involved, it is reported.
