Tatmadaw performs second day of second liver transplant

The second day of the second liver transplant operation was done at the special treatment centre of Tatmadaw General Hospital (1000-bed) in Min­galadon township in Yangon.

The operation was car­ried out on U Thaung Win. The liver extraction from U Phyo Aung Zin, the donor pa­tient, started at 9:30 am and the extracted liver was trans­planted at 3:30 pm and the operation took about 11 hours.

Director of the Directo­rate of Medical Services Maj- Gen Ko Ko Lwin and officials watched the operation.

The patients are now in the ICU under the care of specialists, paramedics and nurses. They are reportedly in good health.
