“Public Notice for filing complaints”

If a citizen’s fundamental rights and legal rights enshrined in the Constitution, or the human rights provided under international and regional human rights treaties to which the State is a party, are violated, he or she may file a complaint with the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission (MNHRC) under Section 30 of the MNHRC Law whether on their own behalf, on behalf of another person, or on behalf of a group of persons.

Complaints can be submitted by addressing the Chairperson, Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, No. (27), 6½ Mile, Pyay Road, Hlaing Township, Yangon or to any of the Commission’s branch offices located in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Sittwe, and Pathein either by post, in person, via fax at : 01-8654678 or through the Commission’s email : info@mnhrc.org.mm.

The following particulars must be clearly included in the complaint:

(a) Full name of the complainant; permanent address, and full contact details (telephone number, fax, and email if available);

(b) A detailed description of how the complainant’s human rights were violated and what harm or loss was suffered, including supporting documents or photographic evidence, if available;

(c) A copy of the complainant’s Citizenship Scrutiny Card must be attached;

(d) The complaint must be signed by the complainant to certify the correctness of the particulars of the complaint.

The Commission will review complaints and, conduct investigations in accordance with the Commission’s law and its procedures, and will coordinate with the relevant departments and organizations accordingly.
