Innocent civilians were shot and killed by so-called PDF terrorists

     In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil services, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies, informants or decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 5 May, 2024 at 11:30 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Thar Yar Paung Village, Ngazun Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Chit San Maung (51 years old), who lived in the village, was at his home with his family when six so-called PDF terrorists arrived on three motorcycles and opened fire on him. As a result, he was shot dead, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 6:30 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Than Ngar Village, Madaya Township. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Hla Min (42 years old), who lived in the village, was walking alone on the village road, when two so-called PDF terrorists arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on him. As a result, he was shot dead, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 6:45 PM, a report stated that a man was injured by gunfire in Zee Khya Village, Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region. Security personnel conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Chan Li (aka) Arr Chan (42 years old), who lives in Ahlon Township, Yangon Region, was travelling in his TOYOTA VIGO vehicle from Ye Town to Dawei Town. As his vehicle reached the incident site, 15 so-called PDF terrorists opened fire. As a result, he sustained a gunshot wound to the head and his vehicle suffered significant damage from the gunfire, it is reported.

     Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases, it is reported.
