Innocent Civilian Injured After Stepping on Landmine Planted by KIA Insurgents and So-Called PDF Terrorists in Waingmaw Township of Kachin State

An innocent civilian injured after stepping on an improvised explosive device  planted by combined group of KIA insurgents and so-called PDF terrorists in  Waingmaw Township of Kachin State.


     In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 26 January 2026 at 2:15 AM, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Waingmaw Township Public Hospital in Kachin State. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Kyu Pant (58 years old), a resident of Wu Yan Village in Waingmaw Township. According to the investigation, 25 January 2026 at 12:00 PM, while the victim was walking in his yard, he stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by combined group of KIA insurgents and so-called PDF terrorists, resulting in his injuries, it is reported.

     It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
