Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Meets Regional-level Departmental Officials and Town Elders of Ayeyawady Region to Discuss about Regional Development

The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met regional-level departmental officials and town elders of Ayeyawady Region to discuss about regional development on 20 January.
On arrival at the Pathein Airport of Ayeyawady Region, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and party heard reports on a brief history of the airport, the implementation of the project to upgrade Pathein Airport and the runway in accordance with the guidance of the Head of State presented by the officials at the lounge of the airport.
After hearing the reports, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister highlighted the points as follows:
· Pathein Airport was upgraded with the aim of developing inbound and outbound tourism services.
· An emphasis must be placed on the long-term existence and safety of improving the airport and runway. It is necessary to implement stage-by-stage process at soonest.
Then, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and party met the regional-level departmental officials and town elders at the Ayeya Shwewa Hall of Ayeyawady Region government office.
At the meeting, town elders reported on the need to upgrade two bailey bridges on Pathein-Chaungtha and Pathein-Ngwehsaung roads, construction of an advanced cargo terminal at the entrance to Pathein and upgrading of Yangon-Pathein road.
Afterward, Union Ministers made sector-wise discussions. After hearing the reports, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister discussed as follows:
· Ayeyawady Region is a reliable region for the country as it possesses good geographical conditions and foundations.
In our country, farming is done in small plots, so by implementing the minimum acre plots, we will be able to implement
· the industrial farming system, and the yield will also improve.
· It is necessary to pay attention as the Ayeyawady Region is a region where businesses that can meet the needs of the local market and foreign import substitution activities based on agriculture and livestock.
· As mangroves can protect from natural disasters, it need to plant as many trees as possible along the coast and in the region. It need to encourage timber, bamboo and rattan production successfully.
After the meeting, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and party cordially greeted those present at the meeting. They then viewed round transport facilities, including bridges in Pathein Township, urban development, Ayeyawady International Industrial Port and industrial zones by motorcade.
