Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye Inspects Battalions/Units under Western Command destroyed by Storm and Makes Coordination for Rebuilding Process

Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye, accompanied by senior military officers from the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army), Commander of Western Command, Deputy Minister from Ministry of Home Affairs and officials on 22 and 23 May, inspected the buildings of Battalions/Units in the stations under Western Command that faced losses and damages in the cyclone “Mocha”, and coordinated with the responsible officials to rebuild the damaged buildings.
Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) and party inspected the following areas:
· Local Border Guard Police outpost under Myanmar Police Force near Inndin Village of Maungdaw Township, and local Border Guard Outpost in Kyikanpyin.
· Local battalion in Buthidaung Township, local military hospital in Buthidaung station and local battalions in War Khoke Chaung station.
· Kyauktaw and MraukU stations.
· Local training school in Minbya station.
· Comforting officers, other ranks and families, and locals receiving medical treatments at local military hospitals, and presenting cash assistance and foodstuffs.
· Paying homage to Mahamuni Buddha Temple in Kyauktaw Township and donating flowers and water as well as cash for all-round renovation of the pagoda.
Later, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) and party, currently arriving at Battalions/Units in the respective stations, coordinated with the responsible officials to conduct rebuilding the damaged buildings quickly and successfully implement the agriculture and livestock farms being carried out at the battalions and units. Then, he cordially greeted the officers, other ranks and families and presented relief aid and foodstuffs.
