Human Rights Book Donation to MNHRC

   The donation of rare books on human rights to the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission was held at the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission Conference room on the 12th of September 2023, from 14:00 to 15:00. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Commission U Paw Lwin Sein, Commissioners, and staff. During the event, U Win Mra, who served as the Chairman of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission from 2011 to 2019 handed over 331 rare books on human rights to Chairman U Paw Lwin Sein.

   Chairman U Paw Lwin Sein gave the opening remark, and then former Chairman U Win Mra donated the books and provided clarification regarding the donation of books and documents. The “Letter of Appreciation” for the donation of books was presented by Chairman U Paw Lwin Sein to former Chairman U Win Mra. Dr. Than Myint, Commissioner in charge of the Human Rights Promotion and Education Division, addressed gratitude. The event concluded at 15:00.

   The books donated at the event were publications from the United Nations as well as books and documents published in English and Myanmar languages from both domestic and international publications including papers, reports, laws, and compilations. The books and documents also comprises role and functions of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs), magazines, and journals on human rights.
