In Loikaw Township, Innocent Civilian and Civil Servant Injured by an Unexploded Heavy Weapon Shell Left by So-Called PDF Terrorists

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, improvised rocket attacks on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and instill fear among the public.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 19 April 2026 at 8:15 AM, local residents and civil servants were cleaning near a lake in Aung Tay Za Ward in Loi Lin Lay Town, Loikaw Township of Kayah State. At the time, U Soe Myint (56 years old), a resident of the ward, struck an unexploded heavy weapon shell left by so-called PDF terrorists with his hoe, causing it to exploded. As a result, U Soe Myint and Daw Hnin Hnin Htway (23 years old), an office assistant from the Basic Education High School of the town and a resident of Aung Mingala Ward, sustained shrapnel injuries and were transported to Loikaw District Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
