PDF Members with no Crime Records Returning Legal Fold Entrusted to their Parents

The ceremony of entrusting PDF members, who completed trainings in the areas of some EAOs and returned to legal fold without committing any crime, to their respective parents was held as follows:

· On 21 May, three male PDF members from Sanchaung township of Yangon region and Bhamo township of Kachin state were entrusted to the care of their parents and guardians after they had signed the document of pledge. Moreover, the officials of the relevant regional government also provided cash assistances to the returnees.

· On 22 May, one male PDF member from Shwegu township of Bhamo district with one KA-22 rifle, one BA-91 grenade, one MG-1 grenade and ammunition was entrusted to the care of their parents and guardians.  For doing so, the SAC presented cash award of K5 million per gun, K300,000 for two grenades, K300,000 for ammunition-related materials, totaling cash awards of K5.6 million to those who entered legal fold. 

At present, the State’s government has released an announcement stating that organizations or groups including PDFs are welcomed if they want to enter legal fold for their normal civilian lives by surrendering their weapons following rules and regulations to participate in future work plans of the country. Up to 22 May 2023, a total of 526 persons including 392 males and 134 females have already entered the legal fold.
