Security Force Arrests Members of Terrorist Group called Special Task Force-STF, who Killed Singer-cum-Actress Daw Lily Naing Soe (aka) Lily Naing Kyaw in Yankin Township, Yangon Region

On 30 May 2023, since a male terrorist gunned down the singer-cum-actress Daw Lily Naing Soe (aka) Lily Naing Kyaw and fled from the spot, she was killed with the gunshot wounds. According to the reports of the people who oppose terrorism and investigations received, security force members arrested the perpetrators Kaung Zarni Hein (aka) La Pyae and Kyaw Thura (aka) ET at the boarding-house in Kamayut Township on 4 June.

According to the confessions of Kaung Zarni Hein (aka) La Pyae and Kyaw Thura (aka) ET;

· In June 2021, they attended a terrorist explosive training conducted in KNLA Brigade (1) area. They joined the terrorist group called Special Task Force-STF in June 2022 and attended a military training again.

The fugitives De Nyein Lin and Hazel formed the terrorist group called Special Task Force-STF at a camp near Bawdai village of Kawkaraik Towsnhip in KNLA Brigade (6) area in January 2022 in order to kill innocent civilians and

· conduct acts of violence in Yangon.

· In the first week of January in 2023, the fugitive De Nyein Lin sent 26 members of terrorist group called STF to Yangon Region to acts of violence, forming small groups.

· The fugitives De Nyein Lin, Hazel, Yathaw and Nway Nway from the terrorist group called STF ordered the arrested perpetrators Kaung Zarni Hein and Kyaw Thura to do acts of violence via Telegram channel.

· On 25 May 2023, the fugitives De Nyein Lin and Hazel ordered them to kill Daw Lily Naing Kyaw and sent her photos and personal data to them via Telegram channel. On 28 May, the fugitive Hazel delivered a Sig Sauer pistol, together with two magazines and 20 bullet rounds, to them.

· The arrested perpetrators watched the apartment of Daw Lily Naing Kyaw daily to kill her. On 30 May, Kaung Zarni Hein killed Daw Lily Naing Kyaw in front of the apartment building.

The perpetrators gave back the pistol and ammunition that were used in the terrorist murder to a member of terrorist group called STF on 31 May under the arrangement of the fugitive Yathaw. The fugitives De Nyein Lin and Hazel provided 300,000 kyats to them via Wave Pay application for the killing of Daw Lily Naing Soe (aka) Lily Naing Kyaw.

Harsh legal measures will be taken under the law against the arrested perpetrators. It is announced that the entire populace is urged to combat terrorists in a collaborative manner and participate in restoring community peace and stability in towns and villages, it is reported.
