So-Called PDF Terrorists Conduct Drone Attack on School, Intending to Disrupt Education Sector in Kambalu Township of Sagaing Region

      Armed terrorists are carrying out threats, coercion, arrests and killings targeting students and educational staff with the intention of disrupting the education and development of young people. Furthermore, they are burning down educational buildings, planting and detonating landmines, destroying educational materials and school textbooks, looting by personnel and conducting heavy weapon and drone attacks on schools.
     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 3 June 2026 at 2:00 AM, so-called PDF terrorists conducted a drone attack by dropping bombs on the Basic Education High School (Zee Kone) in Yan Naing Aye Ward in Zee Kone Town, Kambalu Township of Sagaing Region. Two of the bombs exploded on the roof of the two-story school building within the school compound. As a result, eight galvanized roofing sheets and the ceilings were damaged by the blasts. There were no injuries. As of the 2026-2027 academic year, 31 teachers were teaching 377 students at the school, it is reported.
     It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
