Two Educational Staff Abducted by KIA Insurgents and So-Called PDF Terrorists in Sumprabum Township of Kachin State

     Terrorist groups have been engaging in battles, carrying out attacks using heavy weapons, drones to drop bombs and improvised explosive devices across towns and villages in various states and regions. Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities including abducting and extorting money from administrative officials and civilians as well as killings.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 7 March 2026 at 7:00 AM, Daw Khin Khin Gyi (30 years old), an assistant primary teacher from the Basic Education High School in Ma Chan Baw Township and Daw Lae Lae Oo (28 years old), a second primary teacher from the Basic Education Primary School in Zaw Kan Village, both residents of Ho Pin Town in Mohnyin Township of Kachin State, were travelling in a vehicle, driven by Ko Myat Noe Kyaw (22 years old), a resident of Lone Swut Ward in Putao Township, from Ma Chan Baw Township to Myinkyina Town. When the vehicle reached an area near In Sai Yan Village in Sumprabum Township, a combined group of KIA insurgents and so-called PDF terrorists, forced the vehicle to stop and abducted the two teachers, it is reported.

     Regarding the above incident, security personnel are continuing necessary operations in accordance with standard procedures to identify, apprehend and take action against the terrorists involved, it is reported.
